Celebrating 28 years of excellence in education!

The River Valley 1-on-1 Advantage

(Pictured above) All students have scheduled weekly appointments to review graded homework and receive tutoring as needed. This student is going over his weekly algebra textbook lesson with school principal and veteran teacher, Mr. Adair. What is the student's feeling about his education at River Valley? "It is so much better like this than in a big class with so many students and distractions where it is so hard to learn."

River Valley School's highly structured yet flexible approach to learning achieves success through personal one-on-one instruction to build the confidence and self esteem that can come only from achievement. The fully accredited, challenging program has been proven successful with nearly all levels of students from those not yet reaching their potential to college prep students taking advanced ed college classes while still in high school. The curriculum meets or exceeds the course content and requirements set out by the State of California in the Model Curriculum Standards guide. No other school teaches parents and students how to work together to build "learning teams" that support academics at home. For over 20 years , River Valley School has been providing highly individualized programs which include:

  • Homework helpline and private tutoring
  • In-Community Learning and Internships
  • EDD state approved work experience credit (We issue EDD work permits)
  • College credit in high school through community college classes
  • Field trips that enrich the textbook curriculum
  • Summer School

As a result, nearly all River Valley students are on the honor roll. Even if their previous grades were much lower, the personal attention they receive has helped them to reach their full potential. No wonder one of our student's mother recently exclaimed, "I'd take on a second job to keep my daughter at River Valley!"

River Valley is centrally located in the Parkfair Professional Building one block east of Watt Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard in Sacramento. This works well for our students from Sacramento and those that come in from outlying areas such as West Sacramento, Elverta, El Dorado Hills, Elk Grove and Clarksburg. Families from as far north as Marysville and as far south as Manteca have benefited from River Valley's successful program.
